Will regular compressed air work in paintball guns or do we have to stick to CO2
l have a group of friends who play paint ball at least one a week during
the winter months..we are associated with the local fire dept and were
wondering if its possible shoot of the same air that is used in
firefighter airpacks (which is regular breathing air compressed into a
tank)? Also if this can be done..do you know anything about adaptors
needed?
i don't think so. there are air tanks referred to as HPA(high
pressure air) but i don't think that you should use a fire fighter air
pack. not only is the air pack not meant to be used like that, the gun
probably isn't made to use that kind of air. If you do, it might also void
your warrenty.
YES you can use regular compressed air.. i'm not a fire fighter
so i dont know how much PI goes into one of those tanks,,,,, but a normal
HPA tank for paintball is usally eighter 3000 or 4500PSI.. all you need is
an air compressure that can press all that air.. which for you dont seem to
be that hard... the only thing that i warn you on is that you dnot fill a
3000PSI tank up for 4500PSI becaues that thing will turn into a FRAG
grenade literally
Yes. In paintball it is called HPA. It requires a different
tank then the CO2. Also it is 3000 psi to 4500 psi. The fire-fighter is
compressor should be able to fill it. But, you may nee an adapter. I
fill my HPA tanks from scuba tanks all the tome. The fire fighter tanks
are simply scuba tanks. So it should all work for you.
It depends on if the pressures would allow the tank to handle
it. The best thing to do is find a certified air smith in your area and
find out, and if you do this you will need to find a HPA compressed tank,
and it will come with a regulator on it. Good luck.
Also CO2 is not as good to use as compressed during winter months cause it
can freeze, so try to stick with HPA if you are going to be playing in the cold like you say you will be
it would probaly be easier to use co2 because when you buy the
gun it doesnt say to use firefighter air. even though co2 is probaly
cheaper.
Im not so sure, I would check with a paintball shop that fixes
them, and ask if the seals on da tank would be over pressured or corroded
by it.
