Would that make a difference?
Is there a difference if the

compensator is attached? What about if the pellets are loaded or not?/>

There are some PCPs that are very loud ''for airguns'' but they
Sexi
are nowhere near as loud as even a .22 LR

The Pyramyd Air site gives a ''loudness'' rating for most of the airguns

Walther Nighthawk
http://pyramydair.com/p/walther-nighthawk-co2-pistol.shtml
Specs = 3-medium
3 medium is average if you include all types of airguns.

The Walther Nighthawk is not loud, you could clap ur hands louder.

Later: It is the gun that makes the difference not the co2
cartridge. Here are 2 co2 guns, actually very similar looking rifles. One
is a 1-low which is very-very quiet. The other is 5-high which is going to
make it about as loud as some low power .22 rimfire rounds.

Logun S-16Xs - 1-Low
AirForce - Condor - 5-high
